BIO
ALL ABOUT RUCKUS

Sultry songstress and multi-talented “Music City” native April Rucker grew up surrounded by a musical family which inspired her love for music. As a product of Nashville School of the Arts [where she honed her craft and studied various genres] she used her knowledge performing with groups and artists nationally and abroad. She’s been touring with Eric Church since 2022 and is currently holding the role as lead of his Vocal Department. In the past three years has also toured with Marcus King, KALEO and Wilder Woods. April has also lent her vocal talents to other artists including The Smashing Pumpkins, Lalah Hathaway, Nick Jonas, Lainey Wilson, Billy Gibbons, Brothers Osbourne, Anderson East, and a host of chart topping artists during live events like Academy of Country Music Awards and the CMAs.
As a solo artist her debut release “Here I Stand” earned her a Nashville Music Award for “Urban Recording of the Year” in 2009– an honor shared amongst respective genres. In 2010 she was awarded “Best R&B Performer” in Nashville Independent Music Awards and received another NIMA for “Best R&B Female” in 2011.
In addition to being a vessel for the healing powers of music she supports humanity through charitable endeavors including efforts for the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, various benefits to aid in disaster relief for 2010 Nashville Flood and Haiti Earthquake victims, and has served as a “Role Model for EDCT which is dedicated to educating, empowering, and supporting those affected by disordered eating.
April’s smooth, seductive style and sweet soprano voice, filled with heart-wrenching emotion, lulls partakers into a world of pure tranquility. She wows crowds with intensity as well. The sassy performer’s writing, with its blend of Pop, Rhythm & Blues, is an amalgamation of personal experience and fantasy which often has an emphasis on love. It’s honest music for the wounded hearts of love-sick listeners everywhere.
